Upscale dining experiences? Check. Views of the A? Check. A lively and artistic surrounding community to tie it all together? Double Check. Hotel Indigo is centered in the heart of downtown Atlanta, near all of the city’s biggest attractions. From the Georgia Aquarium to Centennial Park, Hotel Indigo is just minutes from some of the best of what Atlanta has to offer.

The hotel itself is beautiful. With architecture dating back to the 1960s, Indigo incorporates strong steel staircases, sweeping archways and vibrant fabrics and colors – the perfect location for an impromptu photo shoot!

From the ultra-plush bedroom furniture and sinfully soft oversized pillows to the down feather bedding and artsy in-house bar – I was treated to the full on luxury hotel experience. Fridaynight I let loose with festive drinks and delicious tacos at Bartaco, a beachy dive bar just minutes from the hotel where the upbeat vibes carried on through the entire evening. Saturday morning I relaxed in bed. I mean who doesn’t love a lazy Saturday with yummy room service? I ordered heaps of French toast sprinkled with a light layer of powdered sugar, a plate of buttery croissants, extra crispy bacon and a delicious raspberry and blueberry parfait (and yes, it tasted just as good as it sounds).

I booked Hotel Indigo’s “Bike Atlanta Package,” which includes beautiful overnight accommodations and two tickets to the Fall in Love with Atlanta Bicycle Tour and lunch. I woke up bright and early on Sunday morning to take the tour with a couple of friends and it was A-MAZ-ING! Those of you interested in this tour should definitely book a trip that starts in the morning before the sun comes up, you’ll thank me later. The tour took us all around Downtown Atlanta. We stopped at the BeltLine, got breathtaking photos of the Atlanta skyline at the Jackson Street Bridge, took in the beautiful street art that decorated the walls and bridges along our path and ended our tour with a sweet treat at Revolution Donuts. The tour is hosted by ‘Bicycle Tours of Atlanta’ and part of the ride’s proceeds go towards cancer research; so you can bike for a great cause!

Amazing Graffiti Artwork Along the tour!

In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it’s easy to forget to enjoy what’s around you. I know I’m guilty of this sometimes. Hotel Indigo is right in my back yard, yet it never occurred to me that exploring the city I’m in could be just as therapeutic and relaxing as an out of town weekend getaway.

My stay at Hotel Indigo was the perfect way to have a relaxing vacation without leaving home. It reminded me that you don’t have to go far to have fun. There are plenty of vacation opportunities right in your hometown!

Over the next few months, I will be visiting the various locations and sites that make Atlanta amazing, under my#PlayWhereYouStay and #KiitanaTakesAtlanta hashtags.
And since friends don’t let friends vacay alone, I’m inviting you, my most favorite friends in the world, to join me in the fun and take this opportunity to explore your own towns and cities. Follow me on my journey and share your own stay-cation experiences using my hashtags #PlayWhereYouStay and #KiitanaTakesAtlanta and I’ll feature some of my favorites on my Instagram or give you a shout out on my YouTube channel!
